Child safety authority places accident trauma under the spotlight, providing useful tips for parentsKidsafe Victoria will open its new Community Support Centre at Monash Children's Hospital in 2017, readily connecting child safety experts with consumers.
"The new Community Support Centre will allow Kidsafe to have a physical presence in the Victorian community, granting us direct exposure to parents and carers in the South East." said Kidsafe Victoria CEO, Melanie Courtney.
In an environment where the information can be both overwhelming and confusing, the centre will offer expert child safety information, resources, advice and support. And at least some of that information and support will pertain to children at risk in the back of the car.

Tragically, around 260 children die and 58,000 are hospitalised each year due to unintentional injury in Australia. Many of these are avoidable.
Kidsafe Victoria is a non-profit organisation that addresses child accident prevention across a range of high-risk segments, including roads and cars. Driveway safety, child restraints, children left unattended in cars and pedestrian safety are key considerations.
