Renault has revealed it will use the 2015 Frankfurt motor show in September to stage the world debut of its all-new Megane.
The confirmation comes via the French car-maker's Senior Vice-President of Corporate Design, Laurens Van Den Acker, who told Indianautosblog.com it will wear a "very sensual" design, which is expected to be inspired by the Captur and latest Clio.
"The new Megane will be launched in the Frankfurt motor show," he said. "It's a segment which is hugely competitive because you’re competing against the VW Golf, Peugeot 308, etc."
As we've reported, the fourth-generation Megane, which has been spied in testing previously, will be based on the same new chassis architecture, known as CMF-CD, as Nissan's new European Pulsar.
"We will have a very sexy, very sensual, very attractive sporty looking vehicle with all the new technologies which will install itself nicely in the line-up," said Van Den Ackers.
Inside, Renault is expected to shift the vast majority of buttons and controls to a large new 9.0-inch colour touch-screen display, and boost perceived cabin quality with the use of more upmarket materials to better compete with the standard-setting Golf.
The five-door spied undergoing cold-weather testing here is likely to reach European showrooms late this year, before hitting Australia in the first half of 2016, followed by a two-door 'coupe' that will form the basis of a replacement for Renault's giant-killing Megane RS.
