Renault reveals electric Mobilize Limo

Renault has unveiled the first model for its Mobilize car-sharing sub-brand, the Mobilize Limo, which is a Tesla Model 3-sized pure-electric SUV-coupe created for taxi firms, hire companies and businesses.

The first of four models planned, the 2021 Mobilize Limo will be joined by the Bento, Duo and Hippo.

Powered by a small 60kWh battery, the Limo is equipped with a single electric motor that pumps out 110kW and 220Nm, which is enough for a 0-100km/h time of 9.6 seconds and a 140km/h top speed.

Claimed to have an impressive 450km range, Mobilize says a 40-minute charge provides for up to 240km of range.

Drivers have the choice of three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport – with regenerative braking that can be set at different levels.

Measuring in at 24mm shorter, 19mm narrower and 34mm taller than the Tesla Model 3, the Mobilize Limo gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch centrally-mounted touch-screen.

Other useful features for business users, such as cab drivers, include a fridge between the front seats and a spacious, flat-floored interior.

Boot space isn't a strong point at 411 litres, a victim of the rakish rear roofline.

Keeping things simple, just three colours are available – metallic black, metallic grey or gloss white. Standard kit includes 17-inch alloys, LED headlights and flush door handles.

Enabling it to be the perfect candidate for car-sharing, Mobilize has developed a specific app that allows the Limo to be remotely accessed, providing users with the location and allowing them to schedule a booking, set the climate control and lock/unlock the vehicle.

Unusually, Mobilize has no plans to sell the Limo the private buyers. Instead, it will offer it to business users though a flex-rate subscription, with deliveries beginning in the second half of 2022.
