Nissan has teased a single picture of a new concept for a sportier version of its all-new LEAF.
Previewing a single image of the LEAF NISMO Concept at the pure-electric hatchback's European unveiling, the sporty new zero-emission Nissan will be completely unveiled at the Tokyo motor show next month.
Featuring larger wheels, lower sport suspension and a bespoke bodykit, Nissan refused to reveal any more details.
Rumours are rife that the LEAF NISMO will come with a more powerful electric motor. Nissan's second-gen hatch, that was revealed just last month in Japan, already comes with 110kW -- 38 per cent more power than the original version.
Thanks to a generous 320Nm, the standard car should hit 100km/h far quicker than the eight seconds the first gen LEAF was capable of.
For true hot hatch credentials, the LEAF NISMO will need to be quicker still, with a 0-100km/h of less than six seconds for enthusiasts to take it seriously.
We'll find out just how quick the LEAF NISMO is on October 25 when Nissan will publicly unveil, what's set to be, the world's first pure-electric hot hatch.
