Nissan Australia has released a new variant of its popular mid-size SUV range in the form of the 2024 Nissan X-TRAIL N-Trek.
Based on the mid-range ST-L grade and available with both five and seven seats, the N-Trek adds a host of multimedia technologies from higher-spec X-Trail variants, as well as a number of black-themed cosmetic upgrades.
The front-drive five-seat X-TRAIL N-Trek is priced at $47,290 plus on-road costs, while the all-wheel drive seven-seat X-TRAIL N-Trek costs $50,390 plus ORCs.
For the extra $3600 over their equivalent ST-L variants, both new N-Trek models add the 12.3-inch infotainment touch-screen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.8-in head-up display seen in premium X-Trail grades.
Cosmetically, both N-Trek models bring blacked-out door mirrors, door-handles and roof rails, a new dark-finish (rather than chrome) surround for of Nissan’s V-motion grille, a gunmetal finish for the protective lower side of the front and rear bumpers including a new front lower bumper design.
New LED fog lights have also been integrated into the lower section of the front bumper, while a unique new 18-inch alloy wheel design completes the specific design update for the N-Trek, which is available in Gun Metallic, Champagne Silver, Ivory Pearl, Diamond Black and Ceramic Grey exterior paint colours.
In addition, there are two-tone Ivory Pearl, Champagne Silver and Ceramic Grey paint options, each with a black roof.
Inside, to reflect its “more adventurous spirit”, the N-Trek scores a new synthetic leather seat trim with water resistant qualities.
There are no changes to the X-Trail ST-L’s 135kW/244Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine for the N-Trek.
“We started the development of the X-TRAIL N-Trek with the simple motto: Let’s Get Dirty,” said Nissan Europe, Middle East, Africa, India & Oceania vice-president of product marketing strategy and mobility, Arnaud Charpentier.
“It captures the spirit of a core group of X-TRAIL customers who embrace adventure, the outdoors and want to use their vehicle to enjoy time and adventures together. The X-TRAIL N-Trek has been designed for them.
“It has a striking look thanks to unique N-Trek design details, as well as its new water-resistant interior and appealing two-tone paint options. They all combine to make a compelling formula.”
