Pagani has teased its next racetrack-only creation via a sonorous new social media video in which a V12 can be heard screaming its way around a circuit.
The audio is cast against snippets of the world’s most famous and demanding circuits including Imola, Catalunya, Monza and Yas Marina, implying the new model will be even more of a monster than the previous Zonda R, Huayra R and very other special-edition Pagani to date.
Details are non-existent save for the audio and a small text passage at the end of the video declaring “a new creation from Pagani Atelier is on the right track” and to “stay tuned”.
There are no sneak-peeks of the car in the video, but the thumbnail shows a covered silhouette armed with GT3 and LMP-rivalling aero features, the obligatory R roof scoop and an extremely low rear-end.
Two main theories jump to mind: this is some sort of Huayra R spin-off or it’s the follow-up Utopia R.
Both possibilities have merit given the Huayra R is still technically in production and was only launched in 2021, whereas the Utopia is the next generation of Pagani hypercar, production of which started in 2022.
Odds are the new model will probably wear a Huayra badge but, either way, it’s destined to be a stunning thing to look at and even more so to hear – let alone drive.
Pagani R models have traditionally dispensed with their donor vehicle’s twin-turbo engine in favour of a bespoke, free-breathing unit offering unparalleled levels of response, power and emotion, unimpeded by production car regulations.
With Pagani products already at the more exclusive end of the supercar and hypercar markets, the R versions are among the most limited of them all and usually spawn other even more exclusive road-going versions down the line.
Where that leaves this new model is anyone’s guess, but we’ll be sure to have our speakers set to maximum for the global reveal.
