Peugeot has announced it will sponsor a local all-new womens golf event. The announcement, made in conjunction with Women's Golf Australia (WGA), the peak organisation for women's amateur golf in Australia, sees the manufacturer as the naming-rights sponsor for the amateur event to be called the 2006 Peugeot Women's Classic (PWC).
PWC will be open to all amateur women golfers across the country, with state finalists being flown to Sydney during the 2007 AAMI Women's Australian Open where they will compete for a trip to the Peugeot International Pro AM in Paris.
Peugeot will host the 2006 Peugeot Women's Classic, as well as being the Official Car of the 2006 and 2007 AAMI Women's Australian Open. Peugeot will be supplying courtesy cars to the Open players as well as offering the 307CC as a 'hole-in-one' prize for the professional tournaments.
Rob Dommerson, Managing Director of Peugeot Automobiles Australia, said, "With Women's Golf Australia we are forging a relationship with those who know how to enjoy the good things in life.
"Women's golf has gone from strength to strength and players of the sport have become visibly far more fashion and lifestyle conscious. We are delighted to be able to share in this success and to move women's amateur golf to a new level" Mr Dommerson added.
