Just six months after unwrapping the all-new Range Rover, Land Rover has begun teasing its third-generation Range Rover Sport and has announced it will be officially unveiled on May 10.
Set to benefit from all the technical advances of the recently launched Range Rover, the incoming 2022 Range Rover Sport is tipped to ride on JLR's all-new MLA Flex architecture and feature a broad range of powertrain options.
These include mild-hybrid 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol and diesels, a plug-in hybrid version, a flagship BMW-sourced twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 and, from 2024, a pure-electric variant.
Our spy shots have already revealed the Range Rover Sport is primed to feature evolutionary styling inspired by the current model.

Claimed to have around 50 per cent more torsional stiffness compared to the current model and a bodyshell that reduces transmissible noises by up to 24 per cent, the Sport is set to major on refinement.
As well as being quieter, the new Range Rover Sport should also narrow the dynamic gap between it and the Porsche Cayenne.
Under the bonnet, the fastest versions will feature the BMW-sourced S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that is expected to produce around 450kW.
This should see the fastest Range Rover Sport SV (the R has been dropped for the new model) post a 0-100km/h time of around 4.4 seconds and hit a top speed of around 300km/h.

Both emissions and efficiency will also improve compared to the elderly outgoing 5.0-litre supercharged AJ V8 engine.
Built to rival not only the Cayenne but the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, the new Range Rover Sport will replace a model that’s currently priced from about $120,000.
We expect more teasers to be issued in the build-up to the Range Rover Sport's May 10 debut.
