SPY PICS: New Suzuki S-Cross breaks cover

Forthcoming small SUV outed 10 days before its official debut

The next-generation Suzuki S-Cross has been outed almost two weeks ahead of its official unveiling.

The replacement for the diminutive SUV was sprung by Instagram user Suzuki Garage overnight without camouflage, revealing sharper exterior elements including a hexagon-like grille, reworked LED headlights and a redesigned tailgate design.

The 2022 Suzuki S-Cross will be formally unveiled in Europe on November 25, following a slow drip feed of teaser shots in recent months.

Largely unchanged since the third-generation model’s debut in 2014, the S-Cross looks set to opt for a decidedly more pointed exterior façade underlined by chunkier wheel-arch cladding, high beltline and raked roofline in its next generation.

The internals are also expected to receive a much-needed overhaul, too. However, we’ll likely have to wait for the reveal for more information on that front.

Likely to share much with the latest Suzuki Vitara, the next S-Cross is expected to employ the Japanese brand's AllGrip Select four-wheel drive system and come with its latest 1.4-litre Boosterjet mild-hybrid powertrain.

A tailgate image of one variant spotted here also appears to confirm reports of a hybrid 4x4 variant, with ‘Hybrid’ badging visible.

Aussie buyers are also expected to be offered the petrol engine that forms the basis of the hybrid, with 103kW and 220Nm on tap.

The updated Suzuki S-Cross will revive its battle against small SUVs including the Mitsubishi ASX, Hyundai Kona and Honda HR-V.

Stay tuned for full details on November 25.
