New Toyota LandCruiser gets ARB treatment

Australian-developed ARB bull bar and more deployed on Toyota’s LandCruiser 300 Series

Just as TJM Australia has this week released its 4x4 accessories tailored specifically for the 2021 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, ARB has shown off its flagship Summit Bar that will be available for the LC300 in 2022.

Many owners who have the new LandCruiser on order, or are considering taking the plunge despite lengthy delivery times, have been waiting for the big players in the Aussie 4x4 aftermarket to show how they can improve off-road capability and protection afforded by Toyota’s new flagship SUV.

So ARB’s first showing of its next-generation Summit steel bull bar is a big deal, with the Aussie 4x4 accessories giant saying it’s fully compatible with Toyota’s suite of advanced driver assist safety technology that’s specific to the LC300.

ARB’s designers and engineers have also worked around Toyota’s shift with LandCruiser from a V8 diesel to a twin-turbocharged V6 that switches from top-mounted intercoolers to a couple of air-to-air intercoolers positioned lower down at the front of each fender.

As such, ARB has developed press-formed wings underneath the new bar that direct airflow to the front-mounted intercoolers.

Other features of the LandCruiser-specific Summit Bar include integrated LED lights (daytime runners, indicators and fog lights) and a winch mount that will accept LC300-specific products up to an M12 Warn winch or equivalent.

Plastic buffer pads have been removed, while the grille and light assembly attach from the front of the bar to speed up fitment times.

ARB says the new-gen Summit Bar remains compatible with Summit side rails and steps and continues with 60.3mm outer frames and the choice of matt black powder coat finish or colour coding.

Two antenna tabs are also integrated on the centre cross tube.

As demonstrated by the model you see here, ARB will also offer a variety of other 4x4 mods for the new Toyota LandCruiser including driving lights, front recovery points, scrub rails, a roof platform, suspension kits and unique alloy wheel and tyre combinations.

Buyers can now pre-order ARB’s new Summit Bar, with production getting underway early next year ahead of first fitments expected late in January.
