Toyota-owned aftermarket component producer Modellista has debuted a new range of cosmetic upgrades and accessories for the new-generation 2024 Toyota Prado in Japan.
So far available only for Japanese-spec VX and ZX versions of the new 250 Series LandCruiser (as the upcoming Prado is called in Japan, Europe and the US), the Modellista makeover includes a number of unique design and protection options for the all-new large off-road SUV.
These include skid plates, bash plates, rear bumper garnishes, extra daytime running lights, wheel-arch extensions, fender trims, side mouldings, tailgate garnishes, rear spoilers, rear bumper scuff plates and exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels shod with Toyo Open Country A/T tyres.
It’s unclear at this stage whether the kits or individual components will be officially offered by Toyota in Australia (we doubt it), but there’s little doubt they’d be popular here if so – especially the wheel-arch extensions.
The Modellista parts can be installed either prior to delivery or retro-fitted to existing vehicles in Japan, where other 250 Series accessories including an interior illumination kit, smart cushion tote, yellow LED fog lights, LED foot lights, window tinting, sunshade, door-handle protectors, secure number plate bolts and an air sleep mat.
Local pricing and specification details of the new 2024 Toyota Prado were announced in May, confirming a six-variant line-up and a price range of $72,500-$99,990 plus on-road costs.
However, we’re yet to see any of the genuine accessories that will be available in Australia when the new Prado arrives here in the next few months.
Odds are the factory-backed accessories catalogue will comprise bullbars, extra lighting and storage solutions through to convenience and recreational features like awnings, dash cams and recovery boards, as per the previous model.
In Japan, Modellista also produces accessories for the full-size LandCruiser 300 Series as well as the LandCruiser 70 Series. Corolla Cross, RAV4, Yaris and Yaris Cross.
