Toyota will offer a hybrid version of its RAV4 for the first time, according to a tease released late last night, ahead of the small facelifted SUV’s official launch at the New York motor show next month.
The two teasers give little away on how heavy handed Toyota has been updating its Mazda CX-5 rival, other than giving it a pair of new LED rear lamps.
It’s not known if the new small SUV will lift its hybrid technology from the Prius or adopt new plug-in hybrid tech to match the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
In any case, when unveiled the revised RAV4 is launched it should come with Toyota’s latest ‘Safety Sense’ collision mitigation systems that include autonomous emergency braking.
More information is expected to be revealed closer to its unveiling next month.
