It's a hard act to follow after a video of the car being hurled around on ice, but McLaren is determined to extract maximum exposure for its Sports Series model range with this latest teaser pic – of the car's door.
The car that will set McLaren on a collision course with Porsche – and that company's standard bearer, the 911 – is expected to offer 372kW from its mid-mounted V8. Levelling up the power to weight ratio on the other side of the beam balance, the Sports Series will feature extensive use of carbon-fibre – some of which appears in this door.
According to McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt, speaking in Geneva earlier this month, the Sports Series will be the entry-level foundation for the McLaren product portfolio, with Super Series (675LT and 650S) positioned above, and the Ultimate Series (P1 and P1 GTR) topping the range.
And should you be wondering, the Black Swan Moments hashtag is a thematically linked series of 13 milestones in history. Some of them are already revealed, and the series commences with Bruce McLaren's racing debut.
