Nissan has released pictures of a highly modified X-TRAIL (called the Rogue in the US) that it plans to unveil at the New York motor show this week.
Called the Rogue Trail Warrior, the new one-off SUV concept follows in the tracks (literally) of the X-TRAIL that was modified by Nissan Middle East back in December.
Replacing all four conventional wheels with a set of individual track modules, the Rogue is set to have undergone significant re-engineering that involved jacking up the ride height and adapting the standard car's suspension, all-wheel drive and braking system to accommodate the traction-boosting tracks.
Under the bonnet the standard US-spec 127kW 2.5-litre petrol engine is said to carry over unchanged.
Created, like the original Middle Eastern SUV, to be the 'ultimate off-road' version of the mid-size Nissan crossover, the modified Rogue also comes with a front-mounted winch and a powerful LED light bar.
Sadly, Nissan is expected to announce it has no plans to push the Trail Warrior into even limited production.
