NEW YORK MOTOR SHOW: Nissan's Murano teaser

Next generation of Nissan's mid-size SUV, teased here with a photograph of headlight detail, will preview future design themes
This is the second clue to the next generation Nissan Murano that will be revealed in full at this year's New York International Motor Show opening on April 16.
In the tradition of minimalist teaser photos, the image released by the company shows some of the next Murano's headlight system, complete with V-shaped illuminated surround, but absolutely nothing else. However the next Murano is expected to preview what will be a new design language for future Nissan vehicles, with a split C-pillar as a common element.
The mid-size Murano will ride on Nissan's D platform already in use under the new Pathfinder and is expected to carry over drivetrain elements such as the V6 engine and CVT transmission, as well as the on-demand AWD system.
Also expected is a hybrid version of the Murano, based on the 2013 Detroit show's Resonance SUV concept that used an electric motor working with a 2.5-litre V6 engine.
Nissan says the next Murano will have a spacious, premium interior and advanced safety and connective technologies.
More clues as to the shape of the Murano can be gleaned from the Resonance concept shown in Detroit. Although Nissan in Australia is unable to provide a date for local introduction of the new Murano, the all-new SUV is expected to go on sale in the US market during 2014, tagged as a 2015 model.
