There are few cars on this planet that have the same kind of following as the legendary Porsche 911, the next generation of which was recently spied during cold weather tests.
Known within Porsche as the 998 series (the current car is the 997), these photos -- snapped by Carparazzi -- show a very mild evolution of the 911's body shape. The front head lights appear to be more upright than previously and the side mirrors have been moved from the window corner to the side of the door.
The brake lights are also in view for the first time, but the camouflage makes it hard to tell if any changes have occurred.
Eagle-eyed Porsche spotters will also notice the air intakes behind the front doors but these are just cosmetic, a ruse if you will.
The new 911 models are expected to deliver a minor boost in power and torque thanks to updated versions of the horizontally opposed six-cylinder engines currently in use. Revisions to the PDK dual-clutch automated manual gearbox will deliver efficiency and possibly acceleration gains.
