Nissan has released new information about its Electric Vehicle (EV) -- due to go into production next year -- ahead of its official unveiling this Sunday.
In addition to issuing more technical details about the EV, the company has launched a new website to give a first look at the car.
Due to arrive in Australia in 2012 the EV will go on sale in Japan and the United States next year. Nissan is promising a five-seat passenger car that will be capable of running purely on power produced by a newly developed electric motor.
Nissan has revealed technical details and photos of a Tiida-based test mule. Motivation for the car will come from an 80kW/280Nm electric motor developed by the Japanese company for the project.
The micro-site gives away little information about the car, except to say the car will produce zero emissions, but it does have an image of the front of the car.
Painted in light blue the nose of the car appears to have a very short bonnet and sports a similar design treatment to the Tiida test car.
The Carsales Network is attending the launch of the EV, being held in conjunction with the opening of Nissan's new Global Headquarters in Yokohama this weekend, so check back soon for the details.
