Nissan GT-R shatters 0-100km/h benchmark
At 3.0 seconds, engineers say Nissan's 2011 GT-R could go even fasterNissan has put its 2011 GT-R through its paces at Japan's Sendai Highland Raceway scoring an impressive 3.046 seconds for the 0-100km/h sprint.
The new time, set in front of a group of Japanese journalists, was recorded by a V-Box measuring device. Nissan's engineers say the time could have been even faster had the road temperature been higher than 13-degrees.

The 2011 GT-R achieves its maximum acceleration when the driver selects 'R-Mode' and activates the latest and revised 'VDC-R' traction program to maximise tyre grip and engine performance. R-Mode also offers the most aggressive traction, braking and gear-change settings for high performance driving.
However even in the less aggressive 'A-mode', journalists at the Highland Raceway test were still able to achieve 3.1 seconds for the 0-100km/h dash.
The 2011 Model Year GT-R will go on sale in Australia in March priced from $168,800.
