Nissan Kicks SUV teased

Nissan Brazil has released another teaser for the all-new compact SUV it will reveal later this year.

A microsite dedicated to the Mazda CX 3-rival, called the Nissan Kicks, has gone live revealing what’s said to be the production version car’s silhouette.

Almost certain to eventually head Down Under, the new Kicks will be a small, cheap, entry-level SUV that will sit below the JUKE in the Nissan line-up.

This means it would be priced well below the $23,490 the entry-level JUKE costs.

Nissan Brazil claims the baby SUV, created specifically for emerging Latin markets, will major in “boldness in design, technology and [be] fun to drive”.

Despite the second leak, the production car’s design remains top secret, although from the outline and front headlamp detailing it does, indeed, look like the Kicks will be influenced by the Nissan Kicks Concept (pictured) that was unveiled at the 2014 São Paulo motor show in Brazil.

What is known is the design, development and engineering of the new model has been led by Nissan’s Japanese base, but input from Nissan Design America in San Diego and Nissan Design America in Rio has also been incorporated, says the Japanese car-maker.

It’s not been confirmed, but it’s thought that production Kicks will be built on the Renault-Nissan alliance V-Platform. The architecture was first introduced under the 2010 Nissan Micra (K13) and currently underpins both the Nissan Pulsar (C12) and the Nissan Note (E12).
