'Patrol' is an older nameplate in Australia than 'Commodore'.
Nissan has been hiding the Patrol's light under a bushel, naming the latest model 'Series 6' -- but that's only counting the upgrades since the introduction of the GU model in 1997.
The upgraded 'Series 6' model introduces a mild facelift and some changes to individual vehicle specification for the new model year.
Prominent among the cosmetic changes are chrome door handles and a honeycomb mesh insert in the grille, finished in a lighter colour.
The ST grade Patrol gains ABS as part of the update and can now be specified with the 4.8-litre petrol six. This new variant covers the gap left by the cessation of the ST-S grade which was available with both the ZD30 turbodiesel and the 4.8-litre engine.
Nissan is introducing the new model without change to pricing.
