Nissan releases Navara Blackline

Nissan Australia has released the Navara ST-X Blackline Edition, packed with a claimed $7000-plus of free extras.

Priced at $54,888 drive-away, the Blackline special is also at least $2400 cheaper than the model upon which it’s based, the Navara ST-X 4x4 dual-cab ute ($57,290 plus on-road costs).

Like the ST-X, the Navara Blackline is powered by the same class-leading 170kW/550Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine as the range-topping Navara ST-X 550 dual-cab ($63,390 plus ORCs), and also shares its standard seven-speed automatic transmission.

In addition to the non-550 ST-X’s standard specifications list, however, it adds a host of genuine Nissan off-road oriented equipment.

Extras include a black powder-coated nudge bar and sports bar, driving lights, towbar kit, satellite-navigation with HEMA maps, reversing camera, Navara-branded cool box, tubliner, soft tonneau cover, carpet floor mats, Blackline Edition badge and metallic paint.

Although the Blackline misses out on the top-shelf Navara 550’s leather trim, Bose sound system and other features, it comes with the cheaper ST-X model’s six airbags, electronic stability control with Active Brake limited-slip differential, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution and child seat anchor points.

As with the ST-X dual-cab, which was launched last February as a cheaper alternative to the identically engined ST-X 550 flagship, other standard features include privacy glass, five-channel utility track, 60/40-split folding rear seat, 17-inch wheels side steps, foglights and power-folding door mirrors.

There is also Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, dual-zone climate-control, rear under-seat storage and a trip computer, while combined fuel consumption remains at 9.3L/100km.
