Nissan V8 Supercar gets two-wheeled regalia

Todd Kelly's V8 race car will wear bikesales.com.au livery at Phillip Island

This weekend's round of the V8 Supercars championship, the Phillip Island SuperSprint (April 15 – 17), will see the Nissan Motorsport race car of Todd Kelly emblazoned with brand-new bikesales.com.au logos.

The home of the Australia's biggest motorcycle race, the Phillip Island MotoGP, is an apt reveal for the new livery, which also suits driver Todd Kelly to a tee.

"I'm really excited to have bikesales on my Nissan Altima for this weekend at Phillip Island," said Kelly.

"I've been a bike guy my whole life; the first time I got on a bike was when I was only two-and-a-half years old and I've ridden ever since."

"I was lucky enough to ride into the garage on my KLX 450R today – which we've done a bit of work to – and I'll be taking it down with me to Phillip Island for a few photos."

The #7 bikesales Racing Nissan Altima V8 Supercar will be hoping for a strong result at the fast, flowing Phillip Island circuit, where weather can often play havoc with the best laid plans.

The team has showed decent pace during the first two rounds of the season and consistent performances at Phillip Island last year are "encouraging" says the team, when all four cars snaffled a top-10 finish.

"The whole team is looking forward to the weekend ahead. Last time out we showed good pace at Phillip Island. So hopefully this time around we can be competitive and deliver a strong result," said Kelly.

"I can't wait to head to the track this weekend and rip around in the Altima, but who knows, one day I might have a go at going around Phillip Island on two wheels!" he japed.

The change to bikesales livery won't be the last time the car's war paint is changed, with plans to explore a variety of brands from within the carsales family.
