No go-faster version of LaFerrari planned

Ferrari denies reports it plans to build and sell a faster and more exclusive version of its upcoming LaFerrari hypercar
Ferrari has denied an Autocar report that suggested the prancing horse was planning to roll out a more extreme low-volume version of its upcoming LaFerrari hypercar.
Autocar had arrived at the conclusion based on an interview with LaFerrari designer Flavio Manzoni, in which he said: “When we were producing the original design proposals for LaFerrari, there was one proposal that I thought was especially beautiful. So we decided to keep that one back for something truly special in the future.”
However, Ferrari poured cold water on the story by saying it had no plans whatsoever to produce a low-volume version of its new flagship
“It is entirely normal that some design flourishes will be held back for future products,” a spokesman said. “If we showed all our designs now, they might be stolen by the competition and used by others.”
“We have never produced limited editions of our limited series models such as 288 GTO, F40 or F50...  and we have no intention of doing so again.”
“People sometimes come to us and ask for us to do limited runs of the cars made by our One Off programme, but we always say no.”
Autocar had claimed that the exclusive LaFerrari spin-off would cost between $4.5 million and $7.5 million, alleging that the carbonfibre/composite-intensive offering would have more in common with an F1 car than any existing road-going vehicle.
News that the LaFerrari will remain the top dog in the line-up will come as a relief for those who have put down deposits for the car, of which just 499 examples will be built and sold. All of these are already spoken for, despite a circa €1 million price tag.
Packing a hybrid combo comprising a naturally aspirated V12 with a supplementary electric motor, the LaFerrari is claimed to be capable of a sub-3sec 0-100km/h sprint and top whack in excess of 350km/h. More impressive still is its claimed 0-300km/h time of 15 seconds.
