A one-off special based on the Morgan Super 3 sees the hipster trike gain a sunshade canopy for the first time. Created to demonstrate just how customisable the latest Morgan Super 3 is, both the sunshade and seats are finished in a new Khaki Sand fabric material.
The beige, khaki and hints of red were all chosen by Orlebar Brown who is most well-known for its high-end swimwear clothing.
Speaking of the shade, both it and its body-coloured frame are completely removable - and the new nod to sun protection could be offered to export markets like Australia when the Super 3 arrives in 2023.
The removable canopy, with its body colour frame, is trimmed with the same Khaki Sand technical fabric as the interior of the car and fits to specially adapted mounts on the flyscreens and roll hoops.
Other new features introduced to the bespoke Morgan include a new side-mounted luggage rack that features bright red bungee cords.
Launched early this year, the all-new Morgan Super 3 is based on a new lighter, stiffer, bonded aluminium monocoque platform. Under the bonnet, there's also a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine sourced from Ford that sends power via a five-speed manual transmission to the rear wheel via a carbon-fibre reinforced belt.
Morgan, which also produces the Plus 4 and Plus 6 BMW-powered sports cars, is still to reveal local pricing and specs for the Super 3 ahead of its 2023 Australian debut.
But given the only Morgan 3 Wheeler available for sale here at present is pegged at $115,000, the new model won’t come cheap.
