Mitsubishi’s Outlander and Pajero have received model year upgrades. The models, both due for replacemnet in 2006, have received mechanical and specification upgrades.
Pajero: GLS to the fore
The major changes to Pajero have been to the mid-range GLS model. It now gets chrome exterior mirrors (were black), front fog lamps, privacy glass, and rear spoiler, as well as a powdercoat finish added to the existing 16-inch alloys.
The entry model GLX gets a manual driver’s seat dual height adjustment and six-disc in-dash stacker added, while the top-of-the-range Exceed gets powder coated 17-inch alloys, and the multi-media system has been upgraded with fully illuminated buttons, larger escutcheon, revised screen design and layout, as well as the latest Australian road map upgrade. The rear seat entertainment system is now standard in Exceed.
The Pajero's 3.8-litre petrol engine is now Euro 3 compliant, and delivers 149kW at 5000rpm and 310Nm at 3250rpm. The 3.2-litre direct injection turbodiesel engine is unchanged.
There have also been changes to a couple of colour combinations, with Red Metallic replacing Medium Red Mica and Deep Blue (solid) replacing Deep Blue Mica.

Outlander: that's entertainmentOutlander VR-X is the focus of the latest upgrade. The sporty Outlander variant gains an in-dash multi-media entertainment unit that incorporates AM/FM audio, CD/DVD and MP3 player, satellite navigation and off-road navigation.
There has also been a change to the VR-X colour palette, with the Code Red colour being replaced by a striking Electric Blue.
The striking VR-X styling is now even sportier with silver highlights added to the side skirts, and front and rear bumpers. A dual sunroof is now available on XLS and VR-X models priced at $2000.
