MINI will unveil a new convertible model at the North American International Auto Show this month.
The MINI 'Sidewalk' Cabrio features a distinctive paint scheme and 17-inch Night Spoke light alloy wheels, and comes with special leather trim in a Malt Brown colour, with silver piped highlights.
The new leather trim covers the armrests and the lower insert on the two-tone multi-function steering wheel as well as the gear shifter. The interior also boasts a high gloss finish to the dash, door trims and speaker surrounds.
The special edition model is available in both naturally aspirated 85kW MINI Cooper and supercharged 125kW MINI Cooper S guises. Both models are available with manual or automatic transmissions; CVT on the MINI Cooper.
The new Cabrio model is available in five colours: White Silver Metallic, Pepper White Non-Metallic, Sparkling Silver Metallic, British Racing Green Metallic, and Astro Black Metallic.
The MINI Sidewalk Cabrio will arrive in Australia late in the second quarter of 2007 -- and there's no truth in the rumour it'll be renamed the MINI Nature Strip.
Pricing and local specification will be announced closer to launch.
