Pagani Automobili has uncovered a new one-off version of its Pagani Huayra, dubbed the Epitome, which hands the Italian hypercar a manual transmission for the first time.
Created by its Grandi Complicazioni bespoke division, the Pagani Huayra Epitome took nine months to plan and then a further 10 additional months to develop due to the complexity of mating the traverse-mounted seven-speed Xtrac manual transmission to the Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbo 6.0-litre V12 that produces 635kW and 1100Nm of torque.
The company had to create a new six-way titanium exhaust and engineer a triple-disc clutch, electronically controlled limited-slip differential and tripod joint axle shafts to make the three-pedal Huayra driveable on road.
The result is an old-school-style hypercar with a traditional gated manual.
Highlighting its rarity, the Epitome gets new headlights, fresh air extractors on the front arches, a new splitter and revised rear wing.
It also features a new Super Soft mode for its active suspension that’s said to eliminate the pitch and dive associated with heavy acceleration and braking, improving comfort, although the hypercar reverts to its factory set-up above 150km/h.
Set to have a multi-million-dollar price tag, the Pagani Huayra Epitome will make its global debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 11.
