Pagani has shocked show-goers at the Pebble Beach d'Elegance by revealing the lightest, fastest and wildest ever version of its Zonda supercar.
Called the Zonda HP Barchetta, the latest version of the Italian car-maker's 18-year-old supercar is claimed to weigh just 1250kg -- 30kg lighter than the extreme 760RS.
Featuring no roof and a chopped windscreen, the HP's full specifications are yet to be revealed, but there's evidence of faired-in rear wheel-arches, rear fender-mounted snorkel air-intakes, revised aerodynamics and a central rear air scoop.
Clothed in visible-weave carbon-fibre panels, the special Zonda gets ivory-coloured leather trim with tartan fabric inlays in its cockpit.
Thought to be based on the Zonda 760, the latest lightweight Zonda gets the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced 559kW 7.3-litre naturally-aspirated V12.
Just three Zonda HP Barchettas will be made, but only two will be offered to interested buyers -- each rumoured to cost an astonishing $US15 million ($A19 million).
The remaining Barchetta will be kept by Horacio Pagani as a 60th birthday present to himself.
