China's tallest building (for this month, anyway) was the host venue for the launch of the Porsche Panamera (more here) this week.
Affectionately called the 'bottle opener', the Shanghai World Financial Centre stands 101 storeys tall, or 492m at roof height and was completed only last year.
Porsche chose the 94th floor (425m elevation!) of the impressive structure to display its new four-door sports car prior to the Shanghai Auto Show.
So, how did they get the car off the ground? Porsche spokespersons told assembled journalists the Panamera was loaded into a goods lift, with only a few centimetres spare on either side.
Measuring 1931mm wide and 4970mm long, the Panamera had to be significantly tilted -- 90 degrees, no less -- front-to-end to fit! Apparently it was all a last-minute rush job that fortunately paid off...
