Few things beat the sound of someone on the phone saying ‘You’ve won lotto’, ‘You’ve won a Boys Home raffle’ or, in this case, ‘You’ve won a new car’.
That's exactly what happened to Paul Guy from D-Line Smash Repairs in Warragul, Victoria, who has just taken delivery of a brand-new Toyota 86 GTS, which was the first prize in a Toyota Genuine Parts trade competition.
Painted Crystal White Pearl, 'lucky' Guy's 86 is fitted with a host of Toyota Genuine Accessories including the new TRD 18-inch alloy wheels, Rear Park Assist, interior illumination and panel customisation, as well as a lowering spring set and sway bars.
Run over five months from June to September this year, the competition encouraged Toyota trade customers to register and accrue points for every Genuine Toyota Parts item they purchased from a nominated Toyota dealer.
“I didn’t believe it at first when I got the call, and when it became clear that I’d actually won the car, I was kind of speechless," said Guy.
"It’s an impressive package and is loaded with extra equipment. I might even get out on the track and have a crack."
Second prize, which consisted of four two-day passes in a corporate suite at the Sydney 500, where the season finale of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will take place over December 2-4, was won by Vaughn Pappin of SmashCare Virginia in Brisbane.
The upcoming Homebush event will also mark the final round of the 2016 Toyota 86 Racing Series, a key support category for the Supercars championship that offers a $125,000 prize pool.
