Paris match for crackling Pop

Kia will debut its latest concept car, an EV named Pop, at the Paris Motor Show

The teaser pics shown here reveal a little of the Kia Pop, the Korean manufacturer's tiny EV concept set for debut in Paris at the end of next month.

Designed under the guidance of Kia's style guru Peter Schreyer, the Pop will be "convention-challenging". Schreyer, working out of Kia's European design studio in Russelsheim, Germany, has based the car around a three-metre-long footprint.

To put that in the proper perspective, the smart fortwo is 2.7 metres long. The Pop seems like it will approach Toyota's iQ in size and the Kia concept's three-seat configuration is another hat-tip to Toyota, we reckon.

From the press release issued by Kia's local arm earlier today, the Pop "boasts zero-emissions and brings innovative design chic to the city car segment with its dramatic styling."

Kia plans to withhold any further information concerning the concept until the Paris show opens on September 30.
