The 2025 MINI JCW Electric and MINI JCW Aceman have been launched at the Paris motor show ahead of their Australian arrival, sometime next year, with the new dynamic duo getting more power, sportier suspension and JCW design cues inside and out.
Whichever you chose both the MINI John Cooper Works Electric hot hatch and the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman, to give them their full name, both come with a more powerful 190kW/350Nm single-e-motor in place of the standard SE's 160kW/330Nm motor.
This sees the JCW hatch's 0-100km/h dash fall to 5.9 seconds (down from 6.7sec) and 6.4 seconds for the JCW Aceman, a significant improvement over the Aceman SE's 7.1second 0-100km/h dash. Top speed is 200km/h, up from 150km/h and providing for faster overtakes on both versions is a steering wheel-mounted boost paddle that adds an extra 20kW of power for short bursts.
Both models use the same 54.2kWh battery that provides a WLTP-rated range of 371km for the JCW hatch and up to 355km for the Aceman – both those are down on the Cooper SE's 402km range and the Aceman SE's ability to cover up to 406km on a full charge – the price to pay for the extra performance.
Improving the drive both the JCW Aceman and hatch get a bespoke sportier suspension tune and ride on grippier Hankook Ion Evo R rubber that have been developed for fast EVs.
Performance brakes with red and white JCW calipers complete the mechanical changes.
Externally, it's hard to miss that both flagship JCW models get the existing JCW styling pack already available on the Aceman and Cooper Electric. There's a sportier front bumper, new rear bumper with black accents, a rear spoiler, chequered flag JCW badging and different daytime-running lights.
Exclusive to the new JCWs are red accents on the front bumpers air curtains and new JCW 18-inch alloy wheels on the JCW Electric hatch and larger 19s on the JCW Aceman.
Finally, the hatch gets a black flag-patterned panel on its tailgate.
JCW buyers are also able to order a contrasting red/black roof panel as well as body stripes.
Inside there's JCW-specific sport seats that use half synthetic leather and fabric with red stitching. The dash is also wrapped in black and red fabric that provides a chequered pattern to ramp up the sportiness.
Both the MINI JCW Electric hot hatch and MINI JCW Aceman are primed to be on sale in Australia in the first half of 2025 with local pricing and specification expected next year.
