Lexus has part-revealed the small SUV that is set to be its biggest global seller.
Single rear-three quarter teaer shot of the all-new city-crossover, called the UX, was released late last night and it appears to show the firm's confrontational sharp, angular design language will live on in the small SUV that replaces the current Toyota Prius-based CT200h.
That said, its exterior design appears to be significntly toned down from the edgy LF-SA concept revealed at the 2015 Geneva show.
Like the forthcoming production car that will be inspired by the UX concept, the small SUV actually hides a second pair of rear doors.
The show car will feature rear-hinged 'suicide' doors, but it's not known if these will make it to the production vehicle Lexus will eventually sell, which is believed to be based on Toyota's forthcoming C-HR compact SUV.
Significantly smaller than the current NX, the show car also does away with conventional door mirrors and uses cameras instead.
Inside, Lexus says the high-tech theme will continue, but it will be blended with traditional Japanese craftsmanship techniques.
It's likely the show car will come with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain.
More will be revealed at Paris on September 29. Before then expect at least one more tease of what will become one of Lexus most important models.
