Pebble Beach: Koenigsegg to reveal Agera XS
Agera RS-based XS with new aero pack has been built to celebrate the commencement of US salesSwedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg will show off a new special edition based on Agera RS at the upcoming Pebble Beach concours event.
Called the Agera XS, the latest special edition has been created to celebrate the recent announcement that the Agera has been fully homologated for road use in the United States.
Created for a wealthy owner, the Agera XS is based heavily on the most extreme Agera RS that was revealed at the 2015 Geneva motor show and sold out soon after.
That means the latest XS comes powered with the same twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8 that's combined with a seven-speed automated manual and produces a monumental 865kW/1280Nm.
Weighing in at less than 1400kg, the Agera RS was claimed to have a top speed approaching 400km/h.
Incorporating active dampers that use the car’s satnav to work out whether you're on a road or race track and then fine-tune the suspension to the part of the road or track you're driving on.
The original RS was made in just a limited 25-car production run.
The XS that will be shown at the famous Californian concours has already been sold to a wealthy US-based owner who chose the orange paint job and customised the interior.
Said to have the "largest rear wing ever fitted to a Koenigsegg" the XS possibly previews the aero updates for all future Ageras.
The Agera XS will be officially unveiled on August 19.
