Perth Show postponed also

WA's major motor show for 2009 is another casualty of economic hard times and exhibitor caution

Organisers of Perth's motor show for 2009 have officially announced that the event will not go ahead. The Carsales Network initially reported the Perth show was on thin ice (more here) after the announcement that the Adelaide motor show had been postponed until 2010.

Despite a record-breaking attendance of 60,000 visitors in 2008, the management committee for the Perth event could not guarantee the same range and number of exhibitors next year. Outlining the committee's views, Chairman Mark Lauren issued a statement.

"The decision to defer next year's show has come about due to insufficient diverse automotive representation -- the core of what has made the Perth Motor Show so successful in the past," he was quoted as saying in the press release.

As for the Adelaide show, the Perth management committee intends to work on an event for 2010 and has already started work on that.
