Peugeot has announced a new 'Linge S' dress-up pack for the 308 Access auto.
Offering $5000 worth of value for no more than $2300, the Linge S pack consists of 17-inch alloy wheels (in lieu of the standard car's 15-inch wheels), exclusive badging, black mirror covers with a red stripe, front spoiler, lower side skirts, rear diffuser and chequered motif side decals. Inside, the car features red-piped carpet mats bearing the 'Linge S' legend and a rear-view mirror cover with red stripe.
The 'Linge S' pack is one of a range of new accessory packs and is being offered at the special price on older stock (2014-plated) of the entry-level 308 Access with automatic transmission and finished in Bianca White. Peugeot is selling the 308 with the Linge S pack for $26,990 and the offer ends with effect from June 30, or once stocks run out, whichever comes first.
It's all part of an ambitious sales expansion program for Peugeot and its sister brand Citroen, in Australia. Local distributor for both brands, Sime Darby, has pushed Peugeot sales up 7.3 per cent for the year to date, and sales of the 308 have risen from 269 vehicles for the first five months of last year to 705 in 2015 – an astonishing growth rate of 162 per cent, according to VFACTS.
Aware of the 308's strengths in the market – Europe's car of the year in 2014 – Sime Darby has announced an aggressive pricing strategy to lift sales higher still. Drive-away pricing (inclusive of on-road costs) was announced for most of the local Peugeot range just last week.
Three variants of the 308 were priced this way, but the rest of the range was also discounted at the same time. Discounts of between $747 and $1604 apply across the range, with just the newly-launched 308 GT unaffected by the pricing readjustment.
