Peugeot has released details of two new versions of its next-generation plug-in hybrid power it will offer on both the 3008 SUV and the new 508 sedan.
Available on the range-topping 3008 GT, the new flagship HYBRID4 combines the firm's 147kW turbocharged 1.6-litre PureTech petrol engine with two electric motors.
Each produces 80kW and while one is mounted on the front axle, the other is located at the back of the car driving the rear wheels.
Combined, total power of the new plug-in powertrain is 220kW -- enough to launch the all-wheel drive 3008 GT to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds.
As well as decent performance, thanks to a 13.2kWh battery, the 2008 GT can cover 50km on pure-electric power.
The 508, meanwhile, gets the less powerful HYBRID plug-in tech, which blends a 132kW PureTech petrol engine with just one 80kW electric motor.
Together, the powertrain produces 166kW and channels its power to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Peugeot hasn't announced any performance figures, but says the two-wheel drive HYBRID plug-in system emits just 49g/km of CO2.
Featuring a less energy-dense 11.8kWh battery pack, Peugeot says the 508 can manage around 50km on pure-electric power.
Both hybrids can be recharged using a 6.6kW charger in less than two hours, Peugeot says.
To help maximise efficiency, both the 3008 GT and 508 get a unique iCockpit digital display.
It's not known if the two plug-in hybrids are destined for Australia following their launch in Europe in the second quarter of 2019.
Set to make their official debut at the Paris motor show, both the new plug-in hybrids will star alongside the stunning pure-electric e-LEGEND coupe concept.
