Peugeot has launched its new Partner Van 'crew cab' in the EU. The new variant comes equipped with seating for five passengers, yet will be classed as a commercial vehicle to take advantage of tax breaks.
Peugeot Australia told the Carsales Network that the five-seat Partner is not yet on the import list, but that it is not out of the question.
"We consider all models," explained spokesman for the importer, Mark McCartney. "At the moment we have not planned [to bring the Partner Van crew cab to Australia]. But next year we are re-evaluating our LCV range."
Sharing its platform with the Citroen Berlingo, the diesel-powered Partner competes against that vehicle in Australia, as well as rivals from Holden (the Combo) and Renault (the Kangoo). With its additional seating, the new variant would bring to the market a unique feature in this sector. The Partner continues to provide a 1.8-metre load length with the rear seats folded away. And the Peugeot Partner Van retains its sliding side doors to improve access to the vehicle's passenger/load area.
