Automobili Pininfarina has given us a glimpse of how its production Pininfarina Battista will look when it makes its official debut at the Geneva motor show in March.
Releasing a tease on its social media channels overnight, thepure-electric hypercar-maker has shown off the smooth, sculptured snout of its Pininfarina Battista. The famous Italian stylist's first-ever car will look strikingly similar to the H2 supercar it revealed at the Geneva motor show back in 2016.
Featuring slimline LED headlamps, and the absence of any ugly gaping front air intakes, it looks as though the Battista will feature clean and slippery lines which is appropriate as Pininfarina claims its battery-powered McLaren P1-fighter will be capable of 400km/h.
Easily outgunning all its rivals, the Battista is said to produce a colossal 1420kW of power and 2300Nm of torque.
This, claims the niche manufacturer, will see the battery-powered hypercar accelerate to 100km/h in less than two seconds.
Despite its epic performance, Pininfarina claims the Battista will still be able to cover 500km between recharges although that's presumably not while cruising at 400km/h.
Created to become a halo car for Automobili Pininfarina, the Battista will be the first of a range of electric sports cars and a 'super-SUV'.
While the hypercar will pinch its tech from Croatian hypercar-maker Rimac, the new 'super-SUV' being readied by Pininfarina will source its platform, electric motors and power pack from fledgling US start-up Rivian, which recently unveiled its SUV and pick-up at the LA motor show.
Meanwhile, the Battista is set to be on sale shortly after its Geneva debut. Pininfarina says it will make just 150 - each priced from around $2.5 million ($A3.6 million).
