Polestar sharpens its pencil yet again

Polestar Australia has scrubbed $5000 off the asking price of its entire 2 sports sedan portfolio and up to $4700 off the box-fresh 4 crossover as it looks to attract the attention of more buyers.

The discount means the 2024 Polestar 2’s entry price has dipped to $62,400 plus on-road costs while the Tela Model Y-fighting Polestar 4 now starts from $78,500, however the former’s price reduction is also teamed with an increase in standard equipment for the 2025 model year (MY25).

Headlining the spec upgrades is the inclusion of adaptive cruise control and Pilot Pack on all variants, charcoal animal welfare-secured Nappa leather upholstery and new trim around the gear selector.

Other enhancements include two new exterior colours (Vapour and Storm, replacing Magnesium and Thunder) and new 19-inch ‘aero’ alloy wheels, while the Long Range Dual Motor also nabs tinted rear windows and a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Polestar Australia boss, Scott Maynard, said the arrival of the MY25 Polestar 2 would kickstart a time of ‘unprecedented growth’ for the brand Down Under.

“We are excited to welcome the 2025 Polestar 2 fastback to Australia and are thrilled that we can now meet customer demand for the incoming model.

“The timing of Polestar 2’s arrival adds further momentum to our transformation from a one-car to a three-car brand locally.

A full breakdown of the revised 2 and 4 pricing can be found at the bottom of this report; however, it should be noted every variant within these model lines are now priced beneath the new Luxury Car Tax threshold and thereby eligible for the federal government’s Electric Car Discount.

The first MY25 Polestar 2s have already started arriving on local soil along with the first demonstrator Polestar 3s, both of which will be joined by the Polestar 4 in November.
