The Polestar Synergy supercar has been revealed at the Munich motor show, imagining what a wild battery-electric supercar from the Sino-Swedish brand would look like.
Already ruled out ever seeing the light of day, the Polestar Synergy is actually a 1:1 scale model that combines three winning designs from a recent competition that asked entrants to imagine a Ferrari or Lamborghini styled using Polestar’s current design language.
Three winning designs were then chosen from more than 600 entries, with each budding car stylist getting the chance to work closely with the Polestar Design team over a six-month period to turn their dream into a real-life concept.
The judging panel selected two exterior designs and one interior, with all three sketches required to incorporate both advanced technology and sustainability at the core of their entry.
Said to be inspired by nature, the Synergy supercar is the work of Devashish Deshmukh and Swapnil Desai from Paris, France, and interior designer Yingxiang Li based in China.
Measuring in at 4560mm long and standing 1070mm tall, the low-slung supercar features a shape sketched by Deshmukh, who was inspired by a hammerhead shark.
Desai chose to create the supercar using materials that age and evolve over time, while inside the Synergy gets a race car-style central seat that sits below a jet-fighter-style glass canopy.
Created in partnership with the Mattel Hot Wheels toy company, the wild supercar will move from the Munich show to various Polestar locations around the world.
It will also star at the Hotel Wheels Legends Tour in California from October 7.
Polestar design boss, Maximillian Missoni, said: “It’s not often student designers receive such exposure at the start of their career, something the Polestar Design Community on Instagram does so well, amplified this year by the 1:1 scale model and its planned tour of Polestar locations around the world.”
