Polestar has begun teasing the all-new performance-focused coupe it plans to launch on October 17.
Released as a novel picture puzzle on Instagram, it's thought the car teased by Polestar could be a new rival for the Lexus LC or Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
From this early glimpse, the coupe appears to be heavily inspired by the glamorous Volvo Concept Coupe unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show.
The C-shaped rear tail lights, for example, look directly lifted from the show car.
Beneath the skin, it's though Polestar's debut standalone model will be underpinned by Volvo's medium-to-large Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform shared by the XC90 and S90/V90.
Under the bonnet, the Polestar coupe is likely to employ a development of the Volvo XC90 T8's turbocharged/supercharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, although, combined with a more powerful electric motor, total output is expected to climb to around 450kW.
More picture teases will no doubt be drip-fed on the official Polestar Instagram leading up to the coupe's full reveal on October 17.
