Porsche adjusts pricing

Porsche Cars Australia is the latest outfit to adjust pricing in light of the change to the Luxury Car Tax threshold.

The threshold has been raised from $57,466 to $59,133 effective from July 1 this year. Up to $500 per Porsche model will be 'saved' in tax from the original list price. 

That change doesn't apply to the pricing of the Panamera diesel, which was exempt from the LCT due to its consumption rating being under 7L/100km. The four-door diesel uses 6.5L/100km and starts at $196,700.

Model Year 2013 pricing applies to all Porsche models built after June 1, 2012. New Cayenne and Cayenne diesel models come standard with electric open-close tailgate, and all models in the brand's local range are now fitted with Porsche's Traffic Management Channel (TMC) incorporated in the sat-nav system.

The TMC is powered by GPS experts SUNA and apart from Porsche, is also used by the likes of Toyota, Nissan, Subaru and Lexus. In the case of Porsche, the system integrates a hard drive with map data for "most of Australia" and a touchscreen for request input.

The Traffic Management Channel is standard-fit on all new 911 models. Meanwhile, there are no new 997 911 models available, now that production has ended. The 991-series Carrera and Carrera S (in coupe or cabriolet) now make up the current 911 range available for sale in Australia.
