Porsche has announced value-added models joining the Cayenne SUV range.
Based on the Cayenne S, the Platinum Edition is available in either petrol or diesel form, featuring the following standard kit: eight-way adjustable front sports seats from the Cayenne GTS, a panoramic sunroof, Surround View park assist, Lane Change Assist, Connect Plus for the Porsche Communication Management system, Power Steering Plus and a Porsche badge on all head rests. The front seats are upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara, the latter applied to the centre panels.
Porsche claims these features – combined also with 21-inch Sport Edition wheels finished in a satin-look platinum and high-gloss black window surrounds – add up to $12,000 of extra value. That figure is based on a price of $137,100, which is 4.3 per cent lower than the standard variant's price of $143,200. The diesel Platinum Edition is priced at $143,500.
Visual presentation is further enhanced with the 'Platinum Edition' legend on the door sills and a choice of colours comprising solid black, solid white and metallic colours Jet Black, Mahogany, Purpurite, Carrara White and Rhodium Silver.
Mechanically the two variants are unchanged from the donor models, powered by either the 309kW twin-turbo petrol V6 or the 283kW twin-turbo diesel V8.
Porsche dealers are taking orders now, with deliveries expected from late May. An all-new model based on the MLB platform that underpins the Audi Q7 is expected to be launched globally late this year, and in Australia next year.
