Porsche Australia has revealed a new Platinum Edition for its Porsche Cayenne family, with the order book now open for the familiar limited-run nameplate that brings a variety of exclusive touches and more standard equipment over donor models.
The 2022 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition range joins the Platinum-badged Porsche Panamera that’s due to arrive around the same time – mid-year.
Available on the entry-level Cayenne, S and E-Hybrid models – in both Cayenne wagon and Cayenne Coupe body styles – the Platinum Edition highlights include 21-inch RS Spyder Design alloy wheels finished in a satin platinum colour, which also appears on the air intake slats up front, ‘PORSCHE’ lettering in the rear LED light bar and rear badging.
The satin-finish Platinum highlights combine with black sports exhaust outlets and black exterior window trim, while body colour options include solid white and black and a variety of metallics – Jet Black, Carrara White, Mahogany, Moonlight Blue and the unique Crayon grey.
Additional standard equipment on the special-edition models includes a premium Bose sound system, ambient interior lighting, 18-way adaptive sports seats with memory, an analogue clock and, for wagon variants, a panoramic roof system.
The latter is already standard on Cayenne Coupe.
Each special-edition model also carries brushed alloy door sills etched with a Platinum Edition logo, lashings of textured aluminium and silver trim throughout the cabin, and Crayon-coloured seat belts.
Powertrains and other mechanical specifications carry over, with the Cayenne powered by a 250kW/450Nm 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine, while the E-Hybrid uses an electrified version of the same V6 for a combined output of 340kW/700Nm.
The Cayenne S uses a 324kW/550Nm 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6.
