A longer, wider and taller SUV to sit above the current 2021 Porsche Cayenne is reportedly in the works, blending a luxury sedan with a crossover.
According to Automotive News, a dealer working with the famous German brand says the new SUV remains rakish, despite its size, but will feature "very un-Porsche-like" styling with a "flat rear design".
The same retailer said the new model will not resemble the current Porsche Cayenne or Macan when it's due to land in the second half of the decade.
From launch, the XXL SUV will be available with either a plug-in hybrid or full battery-electric powertrain.
The electrified options indicate that it will not be based on an existing architecture, which suggests the new unnamed SUV might sit on an all-new platform that will be shared with other Volkswagen Group partners, like Audi or Bentley.
Developed under the 'Landjet' codename, the new three-row, seven-seat SUV is being developed rapidly under the Audi Project Artemis umbrella.
Project Artemis has become known within the Volkswagen Group as a 'black ops' division that is free of much internal regulatory tape, making it quicker to develop, engineer and embrace new tech than other brands developing core models.
It's thought both North America and China's newfound love for people-movers is the main driving force for the larger seven-seat SUV.
