Porsche is known for some pretty fun and unique collaborations, many of which we have covered over the years. Its latest collaboration sees it take its already cool iconic car colours and transform them into tasty ice cream treats.
Ranging from more than 160 Paint to Sample colours to the Paint to Sample Plus custom colours, along with the traditional colour options, Porsche is able to individualise and customise each of its cars to fulfil their customer’s vision for their dream Porsche.
To celebrate National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 17, Porsche North America launched a limited-edition ice cream pop range inspired by their expansive paint colour palette. Collaborating with Pretty Cool Ice Cream, the following five ice cream colours and flavours were created with eye-catching packaging to match:
Mint Green: Green mint cookies and cream ice cream with a mint green white chocolate shell.
Strawberry Red: Cream cheese ice cream dipped in a strawberry red shell. Made with real freeze-dried strawberries.
Macadamia Metallic: Roasted macadamia ice cream in a sparkling macadamia metallic coloured chocolate shell.
Frozen Berry Metallic: Black raspberry ice cream in a sparkling frozen berry-coloured Ruby chocolate shell.
Lime Gold Metallic: Key lime pie ice cream in a sparkling lime gold-coloured caramel shell.
Each flavour is packaged in a wrapper that shows what the colour it's named after looks like on a car and provides basic details, like the year it was introduced, the model that inaugurated it, and the paint code. For example. Macadamia Metallic first appeared on the 997-generation 911 in 2006 and its assigned paint code is M8W.
"We genuinely thought there weren’t many things cooler than one of our special colours for your dream Porsche, but this ice cream might just have that beat,” said Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing of Porsche Cars North America. “Pretty Cool Ice Cream has been as meticulous and passionate as we are about getting the colour just right – and on top of that they’ve come up with delicious flavours to match. We hope Porsche fans and enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy the ice cream as much as we’ve loved creating it!”
While the limited-edition Porsche ice creams were available from The Pretty Cool Ice Cream store in Chicago on National Ice Cream Day on July 17, Porsche is planning on offering the treats at select events later this year. Unfortunately, no word on whether you’ll be able to grab a Porsche Mint Green or Strawberry Red from the servo ice cream fringe.
