Porsche Stutt’Fest coming to Winton

A new Porsche motorsport festival dubbed Stutt’Fest is set to hit Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria next January, with three days of racing, show ’n’ shine competitions, off-track entertainment and more.

Event organisers and Porsche enthusiasts Sven Burchartz and Steve Kepper said the festival – which will run from January 14-16, 2022 – is open to “anything with a Porsche badge”, with owners across Australia invited to participate.

Whether it’s for the road or racetrack, organisers say Stutt’Fest 2022 is open to Porsches with a “four-cylinder, flat-six, V8, V10 or EV; sedan, SUV or coupe”.

The on-track component of the event will be organised by Winton’s Benalla Auto Club, with racing categories to include two grids of Porsche GT3 Cup cars: one for pre-991-gen models (996 and 997) and the other for later models, including those seen in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia and Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup.

Meanwhile, separate track time will be offered to classic and historic Porsches, while an open sports car category will see more potent metal take to the circuit and a regularity/super sprint will offer track time to others.

Named after Porsche’s hometown of Stuttgart, Stutt’Fest is said to have stemmed from a lockdown-inspired desire to get back on track before expanding into a celebration of all things Porsche – “with a relaxed vibe, affordable entry point, lots of track time and with enjoyment as the number one goal”.

Lots of off-track entertainment, local food and drink options as well as Porsche concours displays will also feature at the three-day event, with part proceeds from entry fees and sponsorship set to be donated to a yet-to-be-revealed local mental health charity.

Burchartz said the idea for the festival stemmed from “how good a concept the Porsche Rennsport Reunion events are”.

“I understand completely that Porsche isn’t in the position to put one on themselves right now, with all the uncertainty, so we have taken that concept as inspiration for our own event,” he said.

“We have put a lot of the management team back together from our Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge days, and Stutt’Fest is based on that original ‘race your mates’ blueprint.

“After the last two years, people are just hanging out to hang out. To do it at an event like this will make those reunions even better.”
