Porsche Taycan recalled

Aussie owners asked to bring their Porsche EV back to the workshop for child restraint safety fix

Porsche Australia is recalling close to 400 examples of its full-electric Porsche Taycan sedan over concerns around the fitment of child restraints.

A total of 388 Taycan EVs are affected by the recall, which covers 2020-2021 versions of the four-door electric performance car.

Impacted models include the Taycan, Taycan 4S, Taycan GTS, Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S.

According to the safety notice, the wiring harness for the rear seatbelt buckle may “impair the access to the ISOFIX child seat anchoring system and prevent the child seat from being secured correctly”.

The potential fault only affects the outboard seating position behind the driver, with Porsche saying there’s no guarantee the child seat will be secured correctly when using the ISOFIX system, increasing the risk of serious injury or death to occupants.

Owners are asked to contact their preferred Official Porsche Centre to have the necessary work carried out and completed free of charge.
