Porsche Cars Australia is offering current and new owners of its plug-in Cayenne S E-Hybrid 10,000km of zero-emissions electric driving.
Announced today as part of its ‘E-Mobility’ program, Porsche has partnered with Origin Energy to offset the charged electric driving distance of its big plug-in hybrid SUV.
The deal sees Porsche purchase 100 per cent GreenPower Accredited Renewable Energy to offset the first 10,000 all-electric kilometres covered by Cayenne S E-Hybrid drivers.
A Porsche-branded ChargePoint card will allow them access to any ChargePoint station across Australia.
The arrangement echoes a similar announcement made by Audi in July, when Porsche's sister brand launched its first Australian plug-in model and also partnered with Origin to cover 10,000km worth of 'green' energy used by the A3 Sportback e-tron.
At the time, Audi said the program would see Origin add the accredited renewable energy back to the grid on behalf of A3 e-tron owners, offsetting 2.5 tonnes of greenhouse emissions.
“Porsche is the only luxury brand to offer three distinctive plug-in Hybrid vehicles (Cayenne S E-Hybrid, Panamera S E-Hybrid and 918 Spyder) across three different model lines, so we are proud of our achievements to date and always look to enhance the ownership experience for our customers,” said Porsche Australia managing director Sam Curtis.
There is no sign yet of a similar deal for Porsche's other PHEV available in Australia – the Panamera S E-Hybrid sedan, only a handful of which have been sold here.
